Classic
Sound is probably the largest location recording service in the UK. We own in
excess of 12 tons of professional recording equipment all of which is flight
cased for ease of transport and rigging within a venue, providing an alternative
to mobile trucks for situations where the space and convenience of a control
room within a venue is preferable.
This extensive equipment list, much of it custom built, neatly divides into four complete sets of mobile equipment and comes with vastly experienced staff to satisfy your requirements; whether they be a complete engineering package, technical support for your artists or individual hire of specific equipment. The diversity of this equipment and accompanying service mean that Classic Sound regularly engage in simultaneous projects such as the kind outlined below:
Recordings for major labels. These range from solo recitals to the largest opera productions. The vast majority of these projects are not recorded in studios, but in Concert Halls, Churches etc. Classic Sound’s equipment lends itself to this approach and its staff has considerable experience working in such venues.
Live Concerts
such as The Three Tenors and Opera Productions from Covent Garden. Classic Sound’s
custom built large portable consoles
interface easily with video/broadcast/P.A
facilities. Out extensive microphone
choice and digital
multi track recorders compliment the consoles to make a very reliable
recording chain.
Film Scoring. Some of the world’s best acoustics coupled with Classic Sound’s location equipment make a very high quality, efficient and cost effective alternative for these sessions. Ancillary equipment, synchronization and video distribution/playback compliment the service, in addition to Classic Sound’s considerable experience in this field.
Jazz/Rock & Pop. Classic Sound’s portable Neve and Raindirk mixers with digital multi track recorders make this a very attractive and cost effective solution for these types of recordings. The idea of a complete recording studio at a venue of the client/artist’s choice, often residential manor houses, is proving to be increasing popular.
Recordings to picture and surround sound are always available if required, as is a full post production/editing and mastering service.
