| Formed in November
97 by ex Decca engineers Jonathan Stokes and Neil Hutchinson; Classic
Sound has quickly established itself as one of the Europe’s foremost
specialist music recording and audio post production services.
With a permanent staff of 6 and a combined experience of over 80 years in the recording business + a host of industry awards, Classic Sound can supply a wide range of services and facilities. The company specializes in all aspects of music recording including film scoring and 5.1 mix to picture, music editing/dubbing and location recording. We regularly work with some of the major recording and film companies such as Universal, EMI, Warner and the BBC. We are constantly maintaining and updating our equipment and skills base in order to be able to offer our clients the most up-to-date recording and post-production technology. |

mixing to picture in 5/1 surround. Digital
mix suite A very neutral sounding 5.1 mix room designed by Andy Munro,
equipped with 48 Fader AMS Logic II digital desk, 24bit S series Audiofile,
full machine control and picture sync facility, surround sound joystick
panning and film panels, plus an extensive range of outboard reverb and
processing.
Dubbing/music editing to picture in 5.1 surround. 32 Track 24bit 96Khz editing/ dubbing, one of the largest edit systems in the country allowing 32 simultaneous inputs and outputs with sufficient storage to edit a full 3 act opera. All edit rooms equipped to work to 5.1 surround and picture. Mastering, full DDP production and verification on CD exabite or 1630. Large range of external processing. Film Scoring. Classic Sound have entered into a collaboration with Henry Wood Hall in EC1 to provide one of the largest and most versatile music recording spaces in London. By combining our resources we have created a package to compete with established scoring studios both in terms of sound quality, and price. Classical location recording. With flight-cased carry in equipment. We have facilities to equip four simultaneous recordings: classical/ pop/ live events/ work to picture/ film scoring: ranging from solo instrument to the largest live opera or film score. Equipment includes custom built Neve desks, 24 bit recording as standard, extensive range of modern and vintage microphones including Neumann M50 and M49, full picture sync and play back facilities, Chord power amps and B&W monitors. Recording Equipment Hire. Rates on application. E-Studio suite. Conversion to WAV, MP3, streaming files, plus a wide range of other internet music services.
